EXAMPLE OF DUTIES The Health and Human Services Department's Public Health Division currently has two (2) open full time Program Coordinator positions.
One is a full time ongoing position with the Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program and the other is a full time fixed term position with the Community Response Team (CRT).
The Program Coordinator positions are 75 hour biweekly positions.

Program Coordinator, MCAH (full time ongoing) Under the supervision of the Senior Program Coordinator, the Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the varied work of the Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program across multiple initiatives.
Responsibilities include assisting in the facilitation of several community collaboratives comprised of a wide range of community and Health and Human Services (HHS) stakeholders and implementing scopes of work developed to reach state-wide and local goals.
The Program Coordinator is also tasked with overseeing and monitoring contracts with community organizations.
In addition, the position assists with researching and coordinating the implementation of best practices to address MCAH health disparities in Marin County, evaluating and tracking metrics of the work of the MCAH program, and preparing required reports for the state MCAH Branch.
Our small MCAH Program is characterized by its breadth and its focus on systems of service delivery.
As a result, program staff is necessarily involved in a wide variety of projects and initiatives that seek to promote equity and improve health outcomes.

Program Coordinator, CRT (full time fixed term) The CRT Program Coordinator works within the Health & Human Services Department in the Public Health Division.
They work under the direction of the Public Health Program Manager.
The main area of focus of this position is on the Community Response Team (CRT) initiatives but they also provide support to other Public Health priorities.
The Program Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the Program Manager and the Senior Program Coordinator in all domains of the Community Response Team (CRT) Working across other Public Health branches to support and coordinate the intersection of the CRT work and other Public Health priorities, as needed and assigned by the Program Manager or Senior Program CoordinatorOrganizing, reviewing, updating, and maintaining CRT plans to align with current Public Health priorities in order to ensure equitable support for the County's most vulnerable community membersWorking with internal County partners (Public Health, Media Team, Epidemiology, etc.
) to help develop key Public Health messaging, including maintaining electronic communications such as dashboards, and webpagesCollaborating, participating, providing health promotion across the four designated zones that comprise the CRT service delivery areas, which will occasionally include early evening and/or weekend eventsAssisting in reviewing, updating, developing, and coordinating agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, contracts and invoices related to CRT's deliverablesThis fixed term position (CRT Program Coordinator) is initially funded up to 6/30/2024.
Please note, this position may end prior to 6/30/2024 if funding ceases or the work is complete.
In addition, these positions may continue after 6/30/2024 if funding is renewed or extended.
Per PMR 48.
2, fixed term employees are not subject to Reduction in Force rights at the completion of the term.
Health and Human Services has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely and options to telework up to three days per week and work remaining days onsite are available; however, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate.
While onboarding and training, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Our Highly Qualified Candidates:

Program Coordinator, MCAH:
The ideal candidate has experience working with community coalitions and has familiarity with MCAH issues.
They possess the ability to work well independently.
This person has a track record of maintaining strong positive relationships both internally with colleagues and externally with community partners.
The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to quickly learn new material and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate can prioritize and make sound, independent decisions while meeting the needs and deadlines of the programs.
Above all, the candidate should possess a passion for the well-being of MCAH populations and a commitment to addressing inequity.
A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, or similar or equivalent experience in the Public Health field is highly desirable2.
Program Coordinator, CRT:
The ideal candidate is familiar with community-based collaborative work, demonstrates an understanding and respect for equity driven partnership and can build trust-based relationships in the community.
The candidate has experience facilitating meetings and working with stakeholder groups, organizing messaging, and reviewing, and updating program plans and protocols.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting the development and management of contracts.
The ideal candidate demonstrates success in working collaboratively with constituents including nonprofit and government community partners.
The ideal candidate is also a team player with excellent oral and written communication and is highly organized.
Additionally, the candidate has strong interpersonal skills, is flexible/adaptable and able to work calmly under pressure.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that includes a multitude of electronic formats for communication, file development, and tracking.

Qualifications:
The equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in a field closely related to the assigned program(s) and two years of experience providing community, educational, rehabilitative or counseling services including responsibility for planning and implementing programs and coordinating with community resources.
Additional related experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
