DescriptionWHO WE AREBioMarin's Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market.
These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin's cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.

Reporting to the Snr.
Director of Global Security, the Security Manager supports various teams across the security group, leveraging data and customer feedback to influence the direction of security and asset protection programs.
The ideal candidate for this role explores big ideas on security, risk, technology, AI, data, employee engagement and awareness that have a large impact across multiple teams and organizations with a focus on continuous improvement.
This role translates broad business problems into specific projects, conducting thorough analysis, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and communicating results effectively at the operational and senior leadership level.
Key job responsibilities include:
Partnering with stakeholders to align policies and initiatives which remain consistent with BioMarin's governance and policy frameworks, Driving the implementation of global physical security standards, awareness, education, and staff training Reviewing security processes regularly in partnership with subject matter experts to ensure optimal efficiency and embrace continuous quality improvement.
The Security Manager will effectively partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes, and initiatives, delivering security team projects from initiation through delivery, and collaborating with counterparts in other functional areas across the enterprise as well as various partner teams.
The Security Manager will emphasize and analyze the use of data and customer feedback to optimize program effectiveness, operating with significant autonomy and discretion.
Learn and manage the Global Security teams financial commitments.
Set up vendor and contract trackers to keep pace with invoicing and submission.
Skills Needed:
Digital tech savviness, comfortable with the full array of office, project and co-pilot (or chat GPT) tool set.
Systems and or applications awareness; CCTV, access control, budgeting, mass notification ideal.
PPT (or similar) presentation decks with a great eye for visual contentPower BIEducation:
BA/BS degree or applicable skills and experiences relevant to the job description.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in security, with a proven track record of implementing effective security protocols and procedures.
A day in the life of a Security Manager at BioMarin:
Imagine starting your day by checking in with your team members, giving them updates on your work, and taking on new tasks to help elevate their projects.
If it's budget submission time, you'll confidently navigate BioMarin's internal financial processes to capture budget details and log them on internal systems to maintain financial compliance.
One of your key objectives is to raise employee awareness around our workplace violence, travel security, and business continuity program.
Working with those function leads, you'll be redesigning our internal BioWeb page (intranet) to bring consistent, visually appealing, and informative content to life for our internal audiences.
You'll confidently use our Microsoft Pilot AI tool to speed through traditionally time-consuming tasks while maintaining accuracy.
You'll also be trained to be a member of our Emergency Response team, the onsite medical and hazardous emergency response group, and might be called to help an injured employee, update emergency response reports, capture after-action reviews, or present data to drive improvements.
And, of course, you'll have your own training and development goals to work towards, all supported by BioMarin to help you grow.
In parallel, you might have joined one of the many ERGs BioMarin supports and will be setting aside time to help plan one of the quarterly events.
